It looks like you have a pretty good start on the site. You have a lot of potential. I would expand your noobs area to include an example of a finished character sheet. That way people are less likely to ask you a bunch of needless questions.

I would also limit the play areas until you have members to play. Seeing it is only you right now, you need to make the play area smaller so that people will have to interact once they do join.

Your best bet is to look at some of the preexisting PbP sites that are out there and use their lay outs.

Advertise. No one is going to play it if no one knows about it! :P
