Introduce yourself...

Well, my full bio is in my profile, but I'm the infamous Effie. Good or bad depending on who you heard it from (Hmmm, I think that was a grammar error).

Anyway, I'm a web designer by trade; I worked for years in the industry through the dot-boom and subsequent -bust. Now I use what I've learned to run my own shop of two and we're much happier for it.

I started online D&D tools in 1995, and they just keep growing. Every time I think I have a neat site ready to go, some new project catches my eye. The Nexxus is my attempt to keep up with all of that -- by putting all that information and all that code in one place where we can build on what we already have to come up with new stuff.

It’s not easy being green

In the world of the eco friendly do you find that it isn’t easy being green?
Are there too many rules to remember?

The theme of round 2 of he Iron Webmaster competition is ‘Go Green‘. With a push for environmentally friendliness, organics and global warming.

For my entry I entry I have produced a site promoting reduction of carbon emissions, and how you can contribute to this (with a humorous bent).

Go visit the It’s not easy being green site, and find the Eco Message.

Then go vote ‘Best’ for it on the Rate page. Remember to leave a comment before selecting the rating.

Leefe.

(You can find the original blog post about it here)

Many RPG publishers create settings for use with their products or the GM can create one from scratch. The setting is usually presented as an atlas or encyclopedia of the area where the player characters are expected to be, with lists of important people the PCs might meet and locations they can explore.

The game tries to create a fictional reality. More flexible GMs will tweak details of the world to suit the players' character concepts, but the larger and more complete the setting, the more difficult this becomes. On the other hand, a deep and well-developed setting such as Tékumel or Glorantha allows the players to feel that their characters are experiencing and exploring something larger than themselves.">//Cog Work zone//( a large building with no windows):

GI Joe Roleplaying game

Greetings, everyone. If there are any fellow Joe fans here, and they might be interested in roleplaying a Real American Hero, I'm thinking of setting<a href="glossary#term66" title="setting: (s) The setting of a campaign is the game world where it takes place. For a historical campaign, the setting might be the court of King Louis XVI, whereas for a superheroes campaign it might be the fictional city of Metropolis.

And of course, more players make for better role play.

Shadowrun 4th Ed.

I have been a GM for Shadowrun since the 1st edition. I have liked the way things have changed (for the most part). Now we are into the 4th ed (the first edition for FanPro) and I was wondering what other GM's and Runners thought about the 4th ed rules/stories.

Add your own.

When talking to a person on a messenger, you look at the typos and think - That would make a good character<a href="glossary#term53" title="character: A role-playing game character is a fictional person (or other entitiy) that inhabits the game's universe. They are typically divided into player characters, who are controlled by the players, and non-player characters, who are controlled by the GM. In any given game, there are far more NPCs than PCs, as NPCs comprise every individual in the fantasy world who is not playing at the moment.

Both types of characters typically follow the same rules for creation, interests, abilities and hit points. Some monsters and odd creatures may not be available as player characters, depending on the game system.

the creators may die, but the game lives on.
